On December 10 Teens Club members of all grade levels and their families joined together at beloved local establishment Mr. Sun's Tea to celebrate all that the teens had done throughout 2022—volunteering, tutoring, mentoring and leading one another and community members across California and the nation.
Able2Shine Foundation is a certified organization to confer the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to teens whose service hours exceed a certain number for the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Lifetime awards. PVSA certificates were awarded to qualifying teens at this event.
Each year the organization holds elections for executive leadership positions and for the capacities of Vice President and Director within club departments, each of which is responsible for facilitating a certain aspect of teen engagement—from website management to stage design to social media. Those who won December's leadership elections were honored at this event.
Outstanding members and their parents were additionally recognized at this event, and all those present attended a showing of the acclaimed movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to celebrate everyone's hard work!
Onto a successful 2023!
